These terms govern your use of globaltrade.business. Please read them before you use the site.
Important: these terms cover the website only. They are not the terms on which we carry out work for clients. If you ask us to register you for VAT or GST, to file returns, or to act as your fiscal or responsible representative, the scope, fee
and terms of that work are agreed with you separately before we start.

In these terms "we", "us" and "our" mean that company. "You" means the person
using the site, and the business they act for.
2. ACCEPTING THESE TERMS
By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site.
The site is aimed at businesses and at people acting for a business. You confirm you are at least 18 and, where you act for a business, that you are authorised to do so.

3. INFORMATION ON THIS SITE IS NOT ADVICE
Our country guides, rate tables, thresholds, deadlines, blog posts and answers to common questions are general information. They are not tax, legal, customs or accounting advice for your business, and you should not treat them as a substitute for advice on your own facts.
Reading the site, using a calculator or sending us an enquiry does not create a professional or advisory relationship between us. That relationship begins only once we have agreed in writing to act for you.
VAT and GST rules change often, and they change at short notice. Rates,registration thresholds, filing frequencies, deadlines and representation requirements can be amended, and an authority's own practice can differ from the
published rule. We work to keep this site current and we show the date of the information where we can, but we do not promise that everything is accurate,
complete or up to date at the moment you read it. Before you act, confirm your position with us or with the tax authority concerned.
4. OUR CALCULATORS AND CHECKERS
The VAT Obligation Checker, the IOSS and OSS calculator, the VAT number validator, the deadline calendar, the rate tables and the interactive maps give indicative results from the information you enter and from data we hold. They
make assumptions, they cannot see your full circumstances, and a result is not a determination of your obligations.
Some of these tools query databases operated by the European Commission or by national authorities. We do not control those services, their availability, or the answers they return. Use the results as a starting point for a conversation, not as a decision.
5. TRANSLATED PAGES
This site offers machine translation into a large number of languages. Machine translation is provided for convenience, it is not reviewed by us, and it can change the meaning of technical tax wording.
The English version is the only version we stand behind. If a translated page and the English page differ, the English page prevails, and that applies to these terms too.
6. OUR CONTENT
The site and everything on it , text, country guides, data compilations, tables, maps, graphics, layout, code, logos and our name, belong to us or to our licensors, and are protected by copyright and other rights.
You may read the site, print pages, and share links to it for your own business purposes. You may quote short extracts if you credit GlobalTrade Business and link to the page you took them from.
Search engines, AI assistants and similar services are welcome to crawl, index, quote and summarise our pages, provided they name GlobalTrade Business as the source and link to the page they took the information from. We would rather be cited than hidden.
You may not, without our written permission:
- republish whole pages or large parts of the site as your own content
- extract or re-use our data compilations, including our rate, threshold and deadline datasets, in a competing product or service
- remove or obscure any notice of ownership
- use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you
7. HOW YOU MAY USE THE SITE
Please do not:
- use the site for anything unlawful, or to break the law of any country
- interfere with the site, its security, or anyone else's use of it
- introduce malicious code, or attempt to gain unauthorised access
- place an unreasonable load on our infrastructure
- submit information you know to be false, or someone else's personal data without the right to share it
We may suspend or withdraw access to the site, in whole or in part, without notice if we reasonably believe you are in breach.
8. THINGS OUTSIDE OUR CONTRO
The site may link to tax authority websites, official databases, partner firms and social media. We do not control them, we do not endorse them, and we are not responsible for their content or their handling of your data.
We aim to keep the site available but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site, or any tool on it, at any time.
9. THE SITE IS PROVIDED AS IT IS
To the extent the law allows, the site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose and
non-infringement.
Nothing in this section removes a right you have under a law that cannot be excluded.
10. OUR LIABILITY TO YOU
This section is about your use of the website. It does not govern the work we carry out for clients, and it does not limit our responsibility for that work.
We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under the applicable law.
Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of goodwill, loss of anticipated savings, business interruption, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site
- we are not liable for tax, interest or penalties you incur because you relied on general information published on the site rather than taking advice on your own position
- our total liability arising from your use of the site is limited to USD 100
If you are a consumer rather than a business user, mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence still apply to you.
11. TRADE SANCTIONS
You confirm that neither you nor the business you act for is subject to trade sanctions, export controls or asset freezes that would make it unlawful for us to deal with you, and that you are not named on a relevant sanctions list. We may
decline or stop work if we believe otherwise.
12. YOUR INFORMATION
What we do with personal data, and the rights you have over it, are set out in our Privacy Policy. What cookies we set, and how to control them, are set out in our Cookies Policy.
13. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the last revision. If a change is significant we will give reasonable notice on the site before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new terms.
14. GENERAL
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
If we do not enforce a right straight away, we do not lose it.
You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours if our business is reorganised or sold, and your rights will not be reduced.
These terms are the whole agreement between us about your use of the site.
15. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES
These terms and any dispute about them or about your use of the site are governed by the laws of Hong Kong SAR, China, and the courts of Hong Kong have exclusive jurisdiction.
Where the law of your own country gives you rights you cannot contract out of, this section does not take them away.
